Internet Installation Procedure

1. Connect Dowtel FWT set with PC through RS-232 serial cable (DB-9 connector)

2. Go to START, SETTING, and CONTROL PANEL

3. In control panel menu, select “PHONE AND MODEM OPTION”

4. In location information window, select country “Pakistan” and put the area code

5. Select the Modem tab and click “Add”, check “DON’T DETECT MY MODEM, I WILL SELECT IT FROM LIST” and click “Next”

6. Choose “STANDARD 33600 bps MODEM” and click “Next”

7. Select the COM PORT where your FWT is connected to, and click “Next”;

8. You have installed modem on your desktop successfully, click “Finish” to go back to phone and Modem Options

9. Select STANDARD 33600 bps Modems and click “PROPERTIES”

10. Go to “MODEM TAB” and make sure that Maximum Port Speed is 115200 bps, which is the default setting of FWT

11. Go to “ADVANCE TAB”, enter “AT+CRM=150” at Extra initialization commands, and click “OK”

12. To verify modem installation select “Control Panel”, “Phone and Modem”, “Modem”, select “Standard 33600 bps” modem, and click “Properties, Diagnostics, Query modem” if system affirms successful installation of modem follow next steps, or else repeat all previous steps

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, NETWORK CONNECTIONS

2. Click “Create a new network connection”

3. The system will pop up interface [New connection wizard], click “Next”

4. Select “Connect to the internet” and click “Next”

5. Select “Set up my connection manually” and click “Next”

6. Select “Connect using a dial-up modem” and click “Next”

7. System will pop-up [Connection name], enter name “V PTCL” and click “Next”

8. The system will pop-up [phone number to dial], enter #777 and click “Next”

9. Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password = ptcl

10. Click “Add a short cut to this connection to my desktop” and click “Finish”

11. In “Connect V PTCL” window double click “Properties” and check that installed modem is “standard 33600 bps modem”

12. Double click “configure” and check that the “Maximum Speed [bps]” is 115200 bps

Start Connection

1. Double click the short cut on desktop or go to START, CONNECT TO, and SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS, double click V PTCL

2. Once you get connected, status of your connection, V PTCL displays connection.

2. System will pop up interface [Welcome to the internet connection wizard]

3. Check “I WANT TO SET UP MY INTERNET CONNECTION MANUALLY” OR “I WANT TO CONNECT THROUGH A LOCAL AREA NETWORK [LAN]” and Click “Next”

4. System will pop up interface [Setting up your internet connection] check “Connect through a phone line and a modem” and click “Next”

5. The system will pop up interface [choose a modem] select “33600 bps modem” and click “Next”

6. System will pop up interface [internet account connection information] write #777 in “Telephone number” and Uncheck “DIAL USING THE AREA CODE AND COUNTRY CODE” and click “Next”

7. System will pop up interface [internet account log on information] Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”
a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com in small letters
b. Password = ptcl

8. System will pop up interface [Configuring your computer] Enter “V PTCL” in connection name

9. System will pop up interface [set up your internet mail account] select “No” to “DO YOU WANT TO SET UP AN INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT” and click “Next”

10. Check the box “Connect to internet immediately” and click “Finish”

11. Enter password and click “Connect”

12. To create a short cut click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, NETWORK and DIAL UP NETWORKING

13. Right click “V PTCL” and create short cut to desktop

14. To start connection double click short cut on the desktop. Once you get connected status of your connection V PTCL displays connection

10. Select “CONNECTION” tab then select “ADVANCE” tab and enter “AT+CRM=150” in “Extra Setting” and click “OK”

7. System will pop up interface [internet account log on information] Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

8. System will pop up interface [Configuring your computer] Enter “V PTCL” in connection name

11. Enter password and click “Connect”

12. To create a short cut click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, DIAL UP NETWORKING

13. Right click “V PTCL” and create short cut to desktop

14. To start connection double click short cut on the desktop. Once you get connected, status of your connection V PTCL displays connection.

1. Please ensure that USB data cable to USB port on your computer is unplugged; also ensure that all connection to internet must be stopped

2. Insert CD in to the CD-ROM. The default driver directory is E:\Set up. Double click the icon “Setup Application”

3. System pops up interface [choose set up language]. Select “English” and click “OK”

4. System pops up interface [set up prepare], click Next to enter the interface [select install path], click “Next”

5. System will pop up [install guide]. Follow the following 3 steps

a. Step 1

• Connect one end (USB connector) of USB serial data cable to USB port on your computer and the other end (DB9) to the serial port of FWT set

• A new window will pop up stating “Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard”, click the statement “Yes, this time only” and click “Next”

• Hardware wizard will find new device “TIUSB 3410”. Select “install the software automatically (Recommended)” and click “Next”. The operating system will install the driver automatically

• While installing, a window will pop up stating that TIUSB 3410 has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. Click “Continue Anyway”

• Click “Finish” to close the wizard

b. Step 2

• Another window will pop up stating “Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard”. Click the statement “Yes, this time only” and click “Next”

• Hardware wizard will find another new device “TIUMP USB serial Port”. Select “install the software automatically (Recommended)” and click “Next”. The operating system will install the driver automatically

• While installing, a window will pop up stating that TIUMP USB serial port has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. Click “Continue Anyway”.

• Click “Finish” to close the window

c. Step 3

• In the pop up [install guide], click “Next” to install Huawei wireless modem

• While installing a window will pop up stating that Huawei wireless modem has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. Click “Continue Anyway”
(The process will take a while)

• Click “Finish” when “setup complete” window pops up

6. To verify modem installation select “Control Panel”, “Phone and Modem”, “Modem”, select” HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM, click “Properties, Diagnostics, Query modem” if system affirms successful installation of modem follow next steps, or else repeat all previous steps

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, NETWORK CONNECTIONS

2. Click “Create a new network connection”

3. The system will pop up the interface [New connection wizard], click “Next”

4. Select “Connect to the internet” and click “Next”

5. Select “Set up my connection manually” and click “Next”

6. Select “Connect using a dial up modem” and click “Next”

7. Select “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM” and click “Next”

8. The system will pop up [connection name], enter name V PTCL and click “Next”

9. The system will pop up [Phone number to dial]. Enter #777 and click “Next”

10. Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name: vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password: ptcl

11. Click “Add a short cut to this connection to my desktop” and click “Finish”

Start Connection

1. Go to START, CONNECT TO, and SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS, Double click “V PTCL”

2. Enter User Name and Password. Click “Dial”

3. Once you get connected, status of your connection, V PTCL displays connected

1. Please ensure that USB data cable to USB port of computer is unplugged and also ensure that all connection to internet must be stopped.

2. Insert CD in the CD-ROM. The default driver directory is E:\Set up. Double click the icon “Setup Application”

3. System pops up interface [choose set up language]. Select “English” and click “OK”

4. System pops up interface [set up prepare], click “Next” to enter the interface [select install path], click “Next”

5. System will pop up [install guide]. Follow THREE steps as mentioned:

i. Connect one end (USB connector) of USB serial data cable to the USB port on your computer and the other end (DB9) to the serial port on the terminal. The system will automatically find the new device “TIUSB3410” and install its driver. In the new pop up system will mention that “software you are about to install does not contain a Microsoft digital signature… “DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE” click “Yes”

ii. After “TIUSB3410” driver installation the system will automatically find another new device “TIUMP USB Serial Port” and install its driver

iii. In the pop up [install guide], click “Next” to start to install “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM”

6. Another pop up will appear showing [Digital signature not found], click “Yes” to continue the installation

7. System prompts that “Setup Program has installed HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM on your computer successfully”. Click “Finish” to complete the installation

8. After the driver installation the system will add “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM” in [Control Panel/Modems]

9. To verify modem installation select “Control Panel”, “Phone and Modem”, “Modem”, select” HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM”, click “Properties, Diagnostics, Query modem” if system affirms successful installation of modem follow next steps, or else repeat all previous steps

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD

2. System will pop up interface [Welcome to the internet connection wizard]

i. Connect one end (USB connector) of USB serial data cable to the USB port on your computer and the other end (DB9) to the serial port on the terminal. The system will automatically find the new device “UMP 3410 Unitary driver” and install its driver

ii. After “UMP 3410 Unitary Driver” driver installation the system will automatically find another new device “UMP 3410 serial Port” and install its driver

iii. In the pop up [install guide], click “Next” to start to install “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM”

7. System prompts that “Setup Program has installed HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM on your computer successfully”. Click “Finish”

8. After driver installation, System will add HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM in [Control Panel/Modems]

OR IN LIEU SYSTEM MAY ASK TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

1. Once you connect USB serial data cable to the USB port on your computer and the other end (DB9) to the serial port on the terminal, system may prompt the message “UMP3410 serial port not found” and pops up the interface [install guide]

2. Click “Next” and system will automatically install UMP 3410 serial port and UMP 3410 unitary driver

3. System will pop up interface [set up complete] and will flash the message “Congratulation set up program has installed Huawei modem on your computer successfully” Click “Finish” and click “Next”

4. After the driver installation the system will add “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM” in [Control Panel/Modems]

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD
OR
START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, INTERNET TOOLS, INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD

2. System will pop up an interface [Welcome to the internet connection wizard]

3. Check “I WANT TO SET UP MY INTERNET CONNECTION MANUALLY OR I WANT TO CONNECT THROUGH A LOCAL AREA NETWORK [LAN]” and click “Next”

4. System will pop up interface [Setting up your internet connection]. Check “Connect through a phone line and a modem” and click “Next”

5. The system will pop up interface [choose a modem]. Select “HUAWEI WIRELESS MODEM” and click “Next”

6. System will pop up the interface [internet account connection information] write #777 in “Telephone number” and uncheck “DIAL USING THE AREA CODE AND COUNTRY CODE” and click “Next”

7. System will pop up interface [internet account log on information] Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password = ptcl

8. System will pop up interface [Configuring your computer] Enter “V PTCL” in connection name

9. System will pop up interface [set up your internet mail account] select “No” to “Do you want to set up an internet mail account”, click “Next”

12. To create a short cut click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, DIAL UP NETWORKING

13. Right click V PTCL and create short cut to desktop

3. System pops up the interface [ZTE_USBDriver-installshield wizard] click “Next”

4. Click “Next” on “Destination Folder”

5. Click “install” to begin the installation at “Ready to install the program”

6. Click “Finish”, USB driver program is installed and the installation is stopped for the moment

7. Connect ZTE set with PC through USB data cable (available with each set)

8. If “USB Device Not Recognized” appear on the computer Terminal hasn’t powered on (Power-Off the Terminal and then Power-On the Terminal again). When Terminal is powered on “Found New Hardware” will appear on the computer

SYSTEM WILL FOLLOW EITHER OR COMBINATION OF FOLLOWING STEPS

9. A found new hardware wizard window will pop up asking for “Can windows connect to windows update to search the software”. Select “No, not this time” and then click “Next”
10. Another “Found New hardware Wizard” window will appear on the computer. Select “Install from a list specific location (Advanced)” and click “Next” to continue

11. A new window will appear asking “Please choose your search and installation options”, select “Don’t search I will choose the driver to install” and click “Next”

12. System will pop up another interface asking [Hardware Type], choose “Modem” and click “Next’, click “Have Disk”, “Browse”, C:/Program Files\ZTE\ZTE_USBDriver\Win2k&XP\ ZTEdm2k&XP, click “OK” and click “Next”.

13. A window with warning message will appear; click “Continue anyway” and wait until a window appears stating “completing the found new hardware wizard”, Click “Finish”

14. To verify modem installation select “Control Panel”, “Phone and Modem”, “Modem”, select” Qualcomm USB Modem” and click “Properties, Diagnostics, Query modem” if system affirms successful installation of modem follow next step, or else repeat all previous steps

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, NETWORK CONNECTIONS

2. Click “create a new network connection”

3. The system will pop up the interface [New connection wizard], click “Next”

4. Select “set up my connection manually” and click “Next”

5. Select “Connect using a dial up modem” and click “Next”

6. Select “Qualcomm USB MODEM” and click “Next”

7. The system will pop up [connection name]. Enter name (V PTCL) and click “Next”

8. The system will pop up [phone number to dial]. Enter #777 and click “Next”

9. Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password = ptcl

10. Click “Add a short cut to this connection to my desktop” and click “Finish”

Start Connection

1. Double click the shortcut on desktop or Go to START, CONNECT TO, and SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS, Double click V PTCL

2. Click “DIAL”

3. Once you get connect status of your connection, V PTCL displays connected

3. System pops up the interface [ZTE-USBDriver_ InstallShield Wizard], click “Next”

4. Click “Next” on “Destination Folder”

5. Click “install” to begin the installation at “Ready to install the Program”

6. Click “Finish”, USB driver program is installed and installation is stopped for a moment

7. System will pop up interface [Restore your computer] click “Ok”

8. After the installation of USB Driver Program is finished, Connect ZTE set with PC through using data cable (available with each set)

9. If “USB Device Not Recognized” appear on the computer, Terminal hasn’t powered on (Power-Off the Terminal once and Power-On Terminal again). When Terminal is powered on “Found New Hardware” will appear on the computer

10. The system will pop up interface [Welcome to the found new hardware wizard]; this wizard helps you install a device driver for a hardware device, click “Next”

11. In the new pop up check “display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver”, click “Next”

12. In the new pop up click “Have disk”

13. System will pop up interface [Install from disk], click “Browse”

14. Select folder C:\Program Files, ZTE, ZTE_USBDriver, Win2k and click “OK”

15. In the new pop up, click “Next”, “Next”

16. In the new pop up system will mention that “software you about to install does not contain a Microsoft digital signature…Do you want to continue the installation?” click “Yes” and then click “Finish”

17. Qualcomm USB Modem will appear in Device Manager. Now the installation of USB Driver program under Windows 2000 system is complete.

Add Network Connection

1. Click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD

2. System will pop up interface [Welcome to the internet connection wizard]

3. Check “I WANT TO SET UP MY INTERNET CONNECTION MANUALLY OR I WANT TO CONNECT THROUGH A LOCAL AREA NETWORK [LAN], Click “Next”

4. System will pop up interface [Setting up your internet connection] check “Connect through a phone line and a modem” and click “Next”

5. The system will pop up interface [choose a modem] select “QUALCOMM USB MODEM” and click “Next”

6. System will pop up interface [internet account connection information] write #777 in “Telephone number” and uncheck “DIAL USING THE AREA CODE AND COUNTRY CODE” and click “Next”

7. System will pop up interface [internet account log on information] Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password = ptcl

8. System will pop up interface [Configuring your computer] Enter “V PTCL” in connection name

9. System will pop up interface [set up your internet mail account] select “No” to “DO YOU WANT TO SET UP AN INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT” and click “Next”

5. Click “install” to begin the installation at “Ready to install the Program”

6. Click “Finish”, USB driver program is installed and installation is stopped for a moment

7. System will pop up interface [Restore your computer] click “Ok”

8. After the installation of USB Driver Program is finished, Connect ZTE set with PC through using data cable (available with each set)

9. If “USB Device Not Recognized” appear on the computer, Terminal hasn’t powered on (Power-Off the Terminal once and Power-On Terminal again). When Terminal is powered on “Found New Hardware” will appear on the computer

10. The system will pop up interface [Add new hardware wizard], this wizard searches for new drivers for USB composite device, click “Next”

11. In the new pop up check “display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want” and click “Next”

12. In the new pop up click “Have disk”

13. System will pop up interface [Install from disk], click “Browse”

14. Select folder C:\Program Files, ZTE, ZTE_USBDriver, Win98 and click “OK”

2. System will pop up an interface [Welcome to the internet connection wizard]

3. Check “I WANT TO SET UP MY INTERNET CONNECTION MANUALLY OR I WANT TO CONNECT THROUGH A LOCAL AREA NETWORK [LAN] and click “Next”

4. System will pop up interface [Setting up your internet connection] Check “Connect through a phone line and a modem” and click “Next”

5. The system will pop up interface [choose a modem] select “Qualcomm USB MODEM” and click “Next”

6. System will pop up interface [internet account connection information] write #777 in “Telephone number” and uncheck “DIAL USING THE AREA CODE AND COUNTRY CODE” and click “Next”

7. System will pop up interface [internet account log on information] Enter “User Name” and “Password” and click “Next”

a. User Name = vwireless@ptcl.com small letters
b. Password = ptcl

8. System will pop up interface [Configuring your computer] Enter “V PTCL” in connection name

9. System will pop up interface [set up your internet mail account] select “No” to “Do you want to set up an internet mail account” Click ”Next”

10. Check the box to “Connect to internet immediately” and click “Finish”

11. Enter password and click “connect”

12. To create a short cut click START, PROGRAM, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATION, DIAL UP NETWORKING

13. Right click V PTCL and create short cut to desktop

14. To start connection double click short cut on the desktop. Once you get connected status of your connection V PTCL displays connection
